FROZEN SHOULDER
Frozen shoulder also known as adhesive capsulitis is a common condition characterized by stiffness and pain in shoulder joints.
Its onset of symptoms is gradual , gets worse and finally goes away
Your shoulder is made up of three bones that form a ball and socket joint. they are your humerus (upper arm),scapula (shoulder blade) and collar bone (clavicle). There is a tissue surrounding your shoulder joint that holds everything together. This is called shoulder capsule. In frozen shoulder ,capsule become thick and tight that its hard to move and loss synovial fluid around joint makes the joint difficult to move.
SYMPTOMS
Mainly pain and stiffness in shoulder joint and upper arm muscles. Pain gets worse at night .
CAUSES
1.Chronic injury
2.Over use of joints
3. Chronic illness like diabetes , strokes etc
4. Secondary to degenerative disorders like chronic rheumatoid arthritis , cervical spondylosis etc.

In ayurveda ,it’s a kapha vata dosha predominant vata vyadhi. So main line of treatment is kapha vata hara chikitsa with usnavirya and asthi vrddhi medicines ( ruksha ,tikta and apatarpana chikitsa).
This may include
1.Upanaha or bandage (shoulder and upper arm)
2.Dhanyamla dhara or dhanyamla podikizhi initially
3.Abhyangam with naranga kizhi
4. Pichu locally
5.Pizhichil with murivenna etc
6. Last and for most excercises. This will fasten your recovery period along with treatments like

2. Finger walk
3. Cross body reach
4. Outward and inward rotation
